Biography[]
Mikiko, born in Tokyo, Japan, moved to Hiroshima at a young age. Inspired by her father's work in advertising and exposure to performances, she developed a passion for dance. Joining the baton club in junior high, she began showcasing her talent during the Hiroshima Flower Festival. In high school, she ventured into hip-hop dancing.
At 19, Mikiko started teaching dance, blending her ballet and street dance expertise. By 22, she became an instructor at Actor's School Hiroshima, where she mentored future Perfume members.
In 2005, she joined Amuse and moved to Tokyo. She continued choreographing and formed ELEVENPLAY in 2009. Mikiko choreographed extensively for Perfume and Sakura Gakuin, and its sub-units including BABYMETAL.
In 2014, BABYMETAL and ELEVENPLAY with Hatsune Miku opened for Lady Gaga's ArtRave: The Artpop Ball.[1]

The following year, in 2017, Mikiko was appointed to the planning committee for the 2020 Summer Olympics opening and closing ceremonies. However, the committee was disbanded on 23 December 2020 due to the simplifications required by the COVID-19 pandemic, which had also led to the event's postponement to July 2021.[3]
In 2019 she choreographed for @onefive's debut single "Pinky Promise".[4]
On December 31, 2020, Perfume and BABYMETAL performed in the 71st NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. It was the first appearance for BABYMETAL.[5]
