It was recorded on October 11, 2019 from LIVE AT THE FORUM live show at The Forum (KIA Forum) in Inglewood, California USA, as part of the METAL GALAXY World Tour.
On September 22, 2021 the album was re-released in vinyl format to commemorate the band's tenth anniversary.

BABYMETAL's first North American arena performance "METAL GALAXY WORLD TOUR LIVE AT THE FORUM" was recorded on October 11, 2019, when the 3rd album "METAL GALAXY" was released worldwide at the same time. It was a memorable live that was suitable for the beginning of "Metal Galaxy Journey" which is the theme of "METAL GALAXY" in the traditional arena where world-famous artists have performed live. A long-awaited video work that fully records one page of BABYMETAL's new legend.[1]
